Backup on the
Beat
Currently
out-of-print.

Chaplain Steve Lee’s been
there, done that—and he bought the
T-shirt. An
experienced peace officer
turned chaplain, Lee knows what it takes to survive spiritually, as
well as on
the beat. And, he
knows that you, as a
peace officer, need real words of motivation and inspiration, not
pretty
speeches or watered-down philosophies.
Inside these pages you’ll find straight talk,
including:
- Stories
with
a message—written in true “cop” style
- Essays with
a purpose—and an emphasis on belief
- Prayers with
power—for God’s backup when you most need it
- Thoughts
with backbone—and truths to keep you going
Peace officers are the
shepherds who stand between the sheep
and the wolves. If
you are to survive
and win in your important vocation, if you are to truly protect and
serve, you
must always be alert to predators, on guard against bushwhackers,
practiced in
tactics, equipped for battle, strong with integrity, guided by
principle,
driven by mission, and grounded in belief.
And, that’s what Backup on the Beat
is all about.
STEPHEN C. LEE is a
former peace officer with a background
that includes positions as a police officer (patrol, juvenile officer),
sheriff’s deputy and sergeant (jail, patrol, deputy coroner, SWAT,
investigations),
and federal special agent (major crimes, foreign counter-intelligence).
In 1988, Lee left law enforcement to become a
minister and
chaplain to peace officers. He
currently serves as the Executive Director of Peace Officer Ministries,
Inc.,
which he founded in 1996. Steve
Lee is married and is the father of four
children and three grandchildren. He resides in Caldwell, Idaho.
