CLEC Training Banquet speaker shares impactful story of loss

The evening of June 14, 2017, P.O.M board member and probation officer Donald King shared his experience as s former Seattle police officer through a touching story concerning the line of duty death of a colleague.

Donald King is a former Law Enforcement Officer of over twenty years. King graduated from the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, Georgia in March 1989 and also holds certifications in the States of Idaho and Washington. King graduated from the DEA Basic Drug School in 2001 and is also a DEA Certified Clandestine Methamphetamine Lab Investigator. King’s many assignments include Patrol, SWAT, Hostage Negotiations, Violent Crimes, Drug Taskforce Investigator, and Patrol Supervisor. King is also a certified instructor in Idaho and Washington and has instructed courses in both Ground Fighting/Weapon Retention and Interview and Interrogations. Donald holds a B.A. in Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland and an M.A. in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from American University.

CLEC Training Banquet features P.O.M. Founder Rev. Steve Lee as guest speaker

The evening on May 25, 2016, P.O.M founder, Rev. Steve Lee joined the 2016 CLEC Training Banquet as guest speaker. Reverend Lee inspired the group with entertaining and informative stories of past experiences as a police officer and pastor.

Rev. Lee is a former California peace officer and NIS (now NCIS) federal special agent. As a called and ordained Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod pastor, he founded Peace Officer Ministries, Inc. in 1996 and served as its Executive Director until January 2010.  Rev. Lee currently serves as a volunteer Chaplain for P.O.M. and is Executive Director and founder of Quick Response Team Ministry

2016 Terri Ruffatto Memorial Scholarships Awarded

On Wednesday, May 25, 2016, Peace Officer Ministries recognized the awardees of the Terri Ruffatto Memorial Scholarships at it's annual Awards Banquet. The banquet takes place as a part of P.O.M.s Christian Law Enforcement Chaplaincy Training held at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. The awardees are pictured below with Executive Director, Frank Ruffatto. Also pictured is Alyson Ruffatto, eldest daughter of Rev. Frank and Terri Ruffatto.
