Executive Director Frank Ruffatto and Communications Director Kelli Ruffatto visited Clendenin, WV to do a brief assessment to see how partner parish Redeemer Lutheran Church in Charleston might be of most help. They witnessed extensive damage and ministered to a few affected residents.
The mood was somber in the high school auditorium in Orlando where the large group of involved officers gathered for critical incident stress debriefing orientation. The commander in charge of the debriefing introduced the session by describing the horrific terrorist attack on The Pulse nightclub as “the mother of critical incidents.”
They do things big in Texas, like floods. Houston is the only place I know that has flood gauges—reading 15 feet or more—in many city underpasses. I heard harrowing survival stories as I drove flood victims to and from their devastated homes to The Word Church to pick up life-sustaining food, water and clothes.
Quick Response Team visited the Chicago PD and handed out three Peace Officer Ministries bibles.
Chaplain Lee attended "Coffee with a Cop" in Orland Park. He gave them Peace Officer Ministries Bibles.
I met with Captain Louis of the St. James Parish Sheriff's Office after ministering with families affected by the tornado in that area of Louisiana. We gave the captain a Peace Officer Ministries edition Bible.
